MAMA26: Modern Applications of Microlocal Analysis
University College London, February 16–20, 2026
A satellite workshop GSTW06 of the INI Programme on Geometric spectral theory and applications, organised by Matteo Capoferri, Jeffrey Galkowski, and Michael Levitin
This event will bring together leading researchers working on diverse applications of microlocal analysis, reflecting the rapidly expanding role of microlocal techniques across mathematical and physical disciplines. The programme will connect cutting-edge microlocal methods to a wide range of modern applications. The goal of MAMA is to showcase the broad spectrum of modern applications of microlocal analysis. While much of the foundational theory of microlocal analysis has been well established, the field has entered an exciting phase where its techniques are being applied to an ever-growing range of problems. These include spectral theory, scattering theory, numerical analysis, dynamical systems, quasicrystalline structures, internal waves, nonlinear PDEs, and more. The workshop will provide a platform for exchanging ideas across these areas, as well as fostering collaborations and new directions.
